Pregnancy Chronicles - Week 11

Week 11 - What’s going on?

During week 11 the placenta is very nearly fully formed, this will happen at around week 12. Baby is growing really quickly at this stage, their face bones are now fully formed but their eyelids are still closed and won’t open for a while. The little buds on the side of baby’s head are starting to look a lot more like ears now and baby is starting to straighten out as it grows. Their teeny tiny fingers and toes are separating and they have fingernails already!!

Baby is now about the size of lime, ish!

For mums at this stage sometimes you might be getting headaches as your body makes all the necessary physical and hormonal changes it needs to help you grow your baby. It’s recommended now to limit your caffeine intake as well to help protect your baby.

But let’s see what Anna’s been feeling like this week!

Anna’s Update

Another week of craving salt and vinegar McCoy’s and still feeling nauseous and tired. I feel really bloated this week as well, and can’t sleep because I keep needed to go for a wee in the night. I still feel a bit sick at the thought of some foods and smells too.

There hasn’t been many best bits this week, maybe that I’m not quite as nauseous as I was before?

I’ve had a few wobbles this week over the gender of the baby but nothing really worrying. It’s been a pretty boring week really.

See you at week 12!
