Positive Induction of Baby T
I had always been terrified of the idea of childbirth so I went to Franki to get some help with breathing techniques and calming methods.
For my own birth I had an induction and having heard nothing but horror stories about inductions I was extremely nervous going in.
Cora's Home Birth
This post comes with a little warning. It involves an obstetric emergency and details of what happened. If you don’t feel in a place to read this please don’t, but it IS a positive birth story and proof that things don’t always have to go perfectly to plan for a birth experience to be a positive one.
When I fell pregnant with her, our third baby, I knew straight away I wanted another home birth. I also knew straight away I'd have to fight for it.
After reading lots, I honestly believed that for me, the positives of being at home far outweighed the risk. The home birth team were happy to look after me and I trusted them.
Positive Forceps Birth of Baby J
I don’t often say it, but I was really proud of how I’d been and I genuinely think that’s because I was prepared, relaxed and could control my breathing.
A healing home birth - Noah's Story
At 12:04am that night/early the next morning, I woke up to quite a strong contraction. I got out my phone and started to time them. The midwives had told me at previous appointments that because my last labour with my eldest, Luca was so quick, I needed to ring them when I was having contractions 1 in every 10 minutes, to give them time to get to us in case I laboured really quickly again.
After about 6 contractions I realised I was already contracting 2 in every 10 minutes, but I lay in bed not really believing I was even in true labour never mind having them so close together so soon.
After about an hour I got up to have a wee and at that point, they ramped up a level. I decided it was probably a good idea to wake Ant up and let him know that I thought I might be in labour.
When did hypnobirthing start?
Who invented hypnobirthing?
There is a common misconception that hypnobirthing is some kind of new trendy craze. That it's what all the hippy mum's use and it's a bit new age and woo-woo.
But it's not.
Really, it's not.
The term hypnobirthing is relatively new but the concept, ideas and science behind it definitely isn't.
Scan Painting & Pregnancy Relaxation Evening
When Danielle asked me if I'd like to run an evening for pregnant ladies with her it was an absolute no brainer for me.
We decided that together we would host an evening for you to come and relax, switch off from the world for a little bit, and flex your creative muscles.
A time for you to bond with baby a little before they are born, and spoil yourself. And that is exactly what we did.
Just a few weeks later we opened the doors of ARTspace in Normanton to welcome our first group of mum's to be.
It was an absolutely brilliant evening, we could not have asked for a nicer bunch of ladies to join for our first evening.
